Zimbra now includes two-factor authentication to improve the security of your Mailbox by providing a physical layer to produce a successful and secure login.
Two-factor authentication is a technology that provides identification of users with the combination of two different components. These components may be something that the user knows (like a password, UserID, etc) and something that the user possesses (like a smartphone, or USB-key, etc.)
Device Management Allow/Block Rules supports regular expression rules which can be created to allow or block devices from connecting to the Zimbra Collaboration server. These rules are applied using the command line and can be created at the global or domain level by using zimbra MobileAllowedDevices and zimbra MobileBlockedDevices multi-valued attributes. These attributes can be set at the Global or Domain level.
Support for Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC)
Zimbra incorporates several open source projects under one supported and certified application to offer a world-class, open source collaboration software consumable for the enterprise
Zimbra S/MIME, the easiest way to Sign and Encrypt Emails
Zimbra provides an easier way to work with S/MIME. Once S/MIME is enabled in the COS (Class-of-Service), the user can see a new option in Settings called Security. Here the user can see an overview of his S/MIME SSL Certificate and change the Options for the S/MIME Feature.
Users can Sign only, Sign and Encrypt, and use the Auto mode, which will remember the latest used option.
You do not have to stop the Zimbra server to run the backup process. The backup system is designed to be easy to use and to provide a high level of data protection.
There are two backup methods are available:
– Auto-grouped backup
– Standard backup
The auto-grouped backup method is the default method which will backup a subset of accounts each day. For larger environments the auto-group back method will complete the backup process in a shorter time window than a traditional full backup procedure.
The standard backup method is appropriate for customers who want to backup all accounts on the same day.
With the newly revamped Delegated Administration, organizations can assign administrators to either predefined or custom-defined rights and roles, allowing for maximum flexibility in managing user permissions and access. This capability offers a more streamlined and efficient approach to granting administrative privileges, ensuring that the right individuals have the appropriate level of control over various aspects of the system.
In Zimbra Daffodil (Version 10), several commonly used predefined rights have been introduced, with more additions planned for future releases. Two notable predefined rights include the Domain Administrator and the Distribution List Administrator. These predefined rights enable administrators to delegate specific responsibilities, such as managing domain-level settings or overseeing distribution lists, to designated individuals without granting full system-wide administrative access. This granular control enhances security, reduces administrative burden, and ensures smooth collaboration within organizations of any size.
It allows you to easily manage your volumes from within Zimbra, simplifying time-consuming storage management tasks.
